As our project studies history common to us all, we want to keep our doors open to everyone interested. Besides actively informing the public about the latest research results, we happily welcome any helping hands to archaeological excavations, to locate previously undiscovered wartime heritage sites as well as other projects relevant to research. We will inform about such possibilities as the project continues.
At the moment we're especially looking for those who have personal memories from the wartime or who have heard such stories from their relatives. We also happily receive wartime photos, writings and other materials. Such material is scanned to our digital database, so you can keep the original copies to yourself. Interview data and scanned photos are also stored into the archives of Satakunta Museum, so that they can be used by other researchers in the future.
If you're willing to be interviewed or you'd have relevant material to share, contact us and let´s talk about the details! Currently we´re looking for all material related to wartime Satakunta, so it doesn't have to only concern the Germans of Pori airfield.
